He was born in Dargaville and raised in Ruawai before leaving the area at age 16 to join the Army. Craig received training in his chosen trade of carpentry, gaining an Advanced Trade Certificate in the third year of his apprenticeship. While with the Army, Craig completed a vast array of building projects. These ranged from special construction work in the Pacific, to extending the military museum in Waiouru. Craig left the military in 1996. From 1997 to 2005 Craig was involved in private building certification in the Auckland region, while Leigh was employed in a corporate accounting business. Craig and Leigh then returned to Northland and established Ceanel Construction Ltd, and launched the Signature Homes brand in the area. Craig and Leigh feel the process of building a home should be enjoyable and an experience to cherish. Signature Homes are proud of their ability to service any part of the home building market and are happy to build both modest one or two level homes as well as unique architecturally designed homes. The franchise works with several teams of expert builders and subcontractors. We are well regarded by suppliers and sub-trades and enjoy an enviable working relationship with the Local Territorial Authorities with whom we work. Where possible, we use local architects, contractors and suppliers, however we also have the benefit of access to a nationwide network of specialists through the Signature Homes franchise system. We choose our Supply Partners for their reputation for excellence within their respective fields. Pre-Designed PlansBuilding quality homes is what Signature Homes has been doing for almost 30 years now, but what we've found is that some of our clients want the quality of a Signature Home on a more modest budget. So, we created the Pacific Collection of homes, a comprehensive suite of affordable pre-designed plans that provide practical modern design and exceptional value for money. Knock Down & RebuildIf you have a great section with an old home on it the possibilities are endless. You could knock down the old one and build the house of your dreams, or build two, rent one and live in the other, or sell one or both – the choice is yours.
