This Signature home is a short drive from Hamilton. Signature Homes Waikato's Managing Director David Marcellus says this home, is one of the largest and most technically advanced his team has built to date.

"It is immense," David said. "The first thing that strikes you is the large Hinuera stone block and Cedar weatherboards, which also feature on the gables and columns." The home is located on a lifestyle block, the house maximising use of the northern aspect of the property.

The grand appearance of the house is complemented by a large covered patio, landscaped gardens and an exterior courtyard with a water feature. Inside, the family/entertainment area lies beneath massive 4.2m ceilings.

The theatre is housed in a separate room with advanced sound-proofing, a 50 inch plasma TV with surround sound, and a raking ceiling for an awesome theatre experience. The large kitchen includes a scullery and elegant sliding glass doors. The cabinets are constructed from white, high-gloss Thermatech, and the benchtops from Stonex. "This kitchen has a great family feel and is perfect for the cooking enthusiast," David said. This 'heart of the home' also has two large ovens and refrigerators, for entertaining on a grand scale.

The master bedroom has a raking ceiling and french door access onto the external courtyard. It has a large walk-in-wardrobe, a flat screen TV recessed into the wall, and is separated from the other bedrooms. The ensuite is "amazing", in a European design with mosaic tiles around the bath, Danish style cabinetry, an unobtrusive vitreous china toilet and bidet, and an extra large, 2m-plus shower cubicle.

The main bathroom can accommodate three people at once, with a large double vanity and additional makeup area. An extra-width corridor gives access to the east end of the house, where the remaining bedrooms loft above the garage can be found.

The loft can accommodate additional living requirements, guest facilities or a rumpus room, and is completely wired for a fully networked office. The laundry has extensive cabinetry with external access, and includes a wet area - the perfect place to discard wet or dirty clothes before coming inside. The garage is extra wide with an adjoining workshop area.

David says an important feature of the home is something you cannot see - the absolute peace and tranquility thanks to the insulation, Peter Fell coloured concrete floors, and double glazing on the windows. "The interior colours are outstanding - we have used the colours of nature, and the main accent wall in the living area demonstrates the modern use of wallpaper," David said. "We not only offer the best interior design and layout, but we are the first to offer the most advanced future-proof standards in the Waikato."

This includes air conditioning and heating throughout; high quality, energy-saving insulation in walls and floors with underfloor heating; electrical networking from a central hub; wiring extension for future networking; and audio wiring from the theatre to the main living and patio with separate controls for TV and audio. "Everything is well thought out," says David.

This Signature Homes home took just 10 months to build from concept to completion. "We have a commitment to the design and build market - we build unique homes with unique designs and no restrictions," David said. "We have a quick turn around with design and construction. We are inviting people to see the best home builder in the Waikato."
