JUST A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY REPEATING
You could be forgiven for mistaking Signature Homes latest showhome at the Stonefields development in Central Auckland for an early 1900s dwelling in one New Zealand's more historic residential suburbs. However, the area surrounding this new home is one of the most exciting residential developments Central Auckland has seen for years. The desirable location Stonefields provides has lead to a number of unique and stylish homes being built for the discerning new home owners who have purchased in the city's newest suburb.
In recent years, Signature Homes has taken a lead in combining design elements of New Zealand's early colonial homes with modern ideas and features new home owners expect in the 21st Century. This combination has been very popular with visitors to homes Signature have built in this style, bringing back memories of time spent in the homes of New Zealand's oldest streets. However, long gone are the drafty hallways, dark corners and closed off kitchen and living areas often found in their predecessors.
Some of the classic features of this new showhome are stained glass windows, chandeliers and white picket fencing and trellises. In the main bathroom, a claw foot bath and black and white checkered flooring add to the flavour.
