What is a 'Loss Adjuster'?
A Loss Adjuster is a liaison who authorises insurance payouts, and is appointed by the insurance company to communicate between the client, the builder and the insurance company.

What is a 'Preferential Builder'?
As a result of the earthquakes, all insurance companies have appointed 'Preferential Builders', who they intend to employ to carry out the rebuilding and remedial work on their client's behalf. As you can imagine, some of these builders are going to have a huge amount of work to get through, and this may in some cases result in unnecessary delays for the affected clients.

Can I choose my own builder?
You do not have to use the Preferential Builder nominated by your insurance company, instead you can work with a builder of your choice. However, it is important to note that the Loss Adjuster you work with may try and talk you out of this.

If you decide to work with another builder, it is crucial that the builder you choose is knowledgeable, and is prepared to help co-ordinate the remedial work/rebuild on your behalf, working co-operatively and effectively with all parties involved.

Can I choose Signature Homes to carry out the work?

Yes, the earlier you are able to secure a section, the better the price is likely to be, and the better the location choices will be.

How do we get started?

1. Make contact with Signature Homes. To do this, you will need to fill out the questionnaire below.
2. Once we have received the questionnaire, we will arrange a time to visit you and discuss your requirements.
3. Providing you are happy to proceed with us, you can then nominate Signature Homes as your preferred builder.
4. We will then make contact with with your insurance representative on your behalf.
5. If the section cannot be built on, we will help you find a suitable section.
6. We will then submit an estimate to rebuild your home to your insurance company.
7. Once this estimate is approved by the insurance company, Signature Homes can begin the work of building your new home, using our proven processes.
