Combining the strength, lightness, versatility and cost effectiveness of Shadowclad and the award-winning design expertise of Architecture Smith + Scully*, the Shadowclad collection offers you a diverse range of delightful homes for those with a taste for style and comfort. Designed to enhance our unique New Zealand lifestyle and environment, each house in this series maximizes indoor/outdoor flow and a sense of spaciousness and light, with pleasure and ease of everyday living being the result. Each house provides a sensible, versatile layout whilst simultaneously presenting a distinctive style and character.
There is something for everyone in this design series - ranging from traditional, elegant designs to the more avant-garde, contemporary styles that ensure you will find a fit for your own sense of style.
The Shadowclad Collection offers six unique and varied designs and includes two reasonably large family home designs; the Pohutukawa and the Tanekaha. The Pohutukawa has a traditional gabled form and layout, while the Tanekaha is a large family home with more contemporary styling.
Of a more modest scale is the Rewarewa which is modern & contemporary in its styling and the Puriri, which is conservative and elegant in character. These two houses have been designed for the smaller suburban and urban sites but would sit comfortably in any landscape.
In the Totara, we have a chic, modern, medium-sized family home for those looking for a sleek–looking dwelling. Another feature of the Totara is its suitablity for sloping sites. Finally, the Matipo is a home that is compact, yet relaxed within its outdoor oriented layout. It also has two stylishly different roof options.
* Architecture Smith + Scully was established in 1996. The directors, Carolyn Smith and Hilary Scully, come from an extensive background of residential and retail projects both in New Zealand and the UK. Already Shadowclad advocates, Carolyn and Hilary see this design series as a progressive concept linking excellent design with cost effective, quality construction.
